The Atlas Murphy bed has to move between its stored/upright position and its lowered sleeping position while remaining aligned with the surrounding wall and bed structure. Part 455138 forms part of the mechanical linkage that allows that controlled swinging movement.

More specifically, the bracket works with 455184 (Bed Base Swing Bracket) and 455185 (Bed Swivel Pin). Together, these pieces create the pivoting connection between the bed structure and the stationary mounting hardware. The 382392 press-fit drill bushing provides a durable bearing/alignment surface in this mechanism.
